New suspended scheme for children’s theatre!
Since opening in 2016 Bar Bar has operated a suspended coffee scheme, which enables guests to purchase a coffee anonymously for anyone who needs one, no questions asked. In 2020 this was expanded to include a children’s lunch donation, which has been used as part of BSC’s performing Arts camp during school holidays, allowing children to participate in activities and providing them with a meal for free.
Now, Bar Bar is launching a new suspended scheme for theatre classes. A donation of £10 will allow a child to attend one of The Black sheep Collective’s youth drama sessions. That’s 90 minutes of drama engagement! There are 3 classes available for 3 age groups ranging from 5 to 18 year olds. If donations reach £110, that would enable a child to attend an entire term (11 weeks), allowing them an opportunity to be part of a performance or local event. Drama classes help children build confidence, break down barriers to participation and ignite new passions!
We received some great feedback from a parent of one of our drama performance group kids:
“Reegans confidence has grown a huge amount, he’s learnt new ways to control his anxiety’s and fears with doing the live shows, meeting new people and being in groups, his imagination is full off life more then ever before. Knowing he feels safe enough in this environment with Georgia to be his real self, comfortable and confident is more then I could ever ask for for a drama performance group.”
